The End is in Sight!

So for the past 5 weeks I have seen my doc every Monday to check my progress. To say that I was disappointed to have made it to this Monday's appointment is an understatement. My baby was due Sat, the 28th (which has come and gone). For the 3rd week in a row I am still at 1 cm so there has been no progress... but as the title to this entry states, "the end is in sight!" If I do not go into labor on my own, then I will be induced Friday morning at 6am, which means it is pretty likely that I will have a baby by this Saturday. I'm really hoping to go into labor on my own though. One of my concerns if we induce is if it increases the likely hood of having to have a C-section. My doctor says it does increase the risk slightly which is why he prefers not to induce. That is why he is going to give me the rest of the week instead of getting me in there tomorrow. This does make me happy to know that I will not be pregnant forever! I will keep you all posted if labor begins before Friday.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Mine was nice. My parents, Jamie & Jason, and my in-laws all came in town. We had a full house... oh, and I can't forget the 3 dogs. Everyone was hoping I would have the baby while they were here. No one really wanted to leave out of fear that the baby would come as soon as they were gone. It's nice to have to house quiet again so I can try to re-prepare myself for labor. We didn't really take many pictures because we were pretty lazy and didn't really get ready. And if you know my sister and I, we do not like to take pictures if our hair and makeup is not done. Here are a few that we did take.

The Final Countdown

So I officially have 4 more days until my due date. Unfortunately at my Monday doctors appointment there have been no further advances. I'm still at 1 cm with no effacement. I went ahead and scheduled an appointment for next Monday, so my doc said that if I make it to that appointment we can talk about inducing. So we'll wait and see. Here are some pictures that Paul took of my growing belly on Monday. I'm big, but thankfully no stretch marks!

New Additions

I mentioned in my nursery post that I saw a table and lamp at Baby Coco that I wanted to get for the baby's room. I asked Paul if he would meet me over there on his lunch break so we could "look" at it. He said we were only "looking" and not buying. So I said, "Fine. I'm not going if we are not buying because I've already seen it." Well, we went anyways, and now the table and lamp are upstairs in the baby's room. I've included some pictures so you can see how great it looks!

I was also able to get the baby swing assembled today. It's been raining all day so I figured why not put myself to good use and get this ready so I don't have to do it later. I've included some pictures of that as well.

Dear Taylor,

I know it is nice and cozy in my womb, but seriously, my bladder can't take it anymore. So please make your way on out into this world and I can keep you warm in my arms.

Love Mommy

Wittle Max

So I'm a little nervous about how Max is going to react to the new baby. He is so much a mama's boy and always has to be right next to me. From what I've seen of him so far, he is not that fond of kids. I think he may surprise me though. Hopefully getting to grow up with the baby will be easier for him than just throwing a toddler in the mix... only time will tell. Here are some of my favorite pictures of my little love. He is just so cute!

Another Trip to the Doctor

So I had my weekly doctor appointment this morning. Good news is I'm 1 cm dilated. Bad news is that doesn't really mean anything. People walk around dilated for weeks before they deliver! Dr. Doss said the head is down, but there is no engagement. I don't really know what this means other than she must not be ready yet. I know things can change over night, so keep your fingers crossed that Taylor makes an appearance soon.... tomorrow maybe?

Here is my Doctor's new website just incase any of you were curious about him!

The Nursery

So, the nursery is all decorated! Just waiting for little Taylor to make an appearance. Here are some photos of the room. I think in my head I wanted this big elaborate baby room, but it turned out pretty simple. I would like to say it is still a work in progress. I painted the block letters above the crib and they didn't turn out that great. Jamie had this lady in Houston make the drapery panels for me. They are one of my favorite things in the room! The shelves still need some organization. I'm not very good at that so hopefully my sister will help me make it look good next time she is here. I still want to get a little table to put next to the rocker with a lamp on it. I saw one I really like at Baby Coco (this adorable baby boutique in Austin). It's a little pricy, but it is very versatile. My bedding is all by Serena and Lily. They have such amazing fabric. I really wanted to mix patterns and I'm really happy with the way it turned out. I just feel like something is missing (besides the baby). It doesn't feel pulled together yet... need help!

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to our family blog. I thought this would be a great way to keep everyone up to date on what is going on with our growing family. Right now we are 2 weeks away from the estimated arrival of our first baby! We are both so excited and can't wait for the day to arrive. I've got the car seat installed, bags are packed, nursery is ready, now all we need is baby! As many of you may know, Paul and I have decided to name our baby girl Taylor. I think it is a great way to honor the name I grew up with. Her middle name is going to be Bea. Bea is short for Beatrice, which was my grandmother's name. I think they sound great together. "Taylor Bea"
Here is a sneak peak at the outfit Taylor will be leaving the hospital in. Hopefully it is sooner rather than later
